Mrs. Mary Jones Allmond, age 91, died Monday at the Ogeechee Area Hospice Inpatient Facility. She was a native and longtime resident of Bulloch County and was a member of Clito Baptist Church. Mrs. Allmond had a lifelong career in childcare and many return to tell her of influence on their lives. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, flowers, and cooking. Mrs. Allmond was preceded in death by her husband, Mose Edward Allmond, and two sons, James Edward Allmond and Harvey Allmond.
Survivors include her children, Jeanette (George) Gunter of Pensacola, FL, Mickey E. (Glenda Faye) Allmond of Chattanooga, TN, Mark Allmond of Statesboro, and Dwight Allmond of Statesboro; one sister, Minnie Lee of Statesboro; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Friday from 7:00 until 9:00 P.M. at Hodges-Moore Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held Saturday at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Hodges-Moore with Rev. Dan Zellner officiating.
Active pallbearers will be Barry Gunter, Evan Lee, Dennis Lee, Casey Lee, Charles Jones, and Lavon Jones.
Burial will be in Bulloch Memorial Gardens.
