Born in Hackensack, New Jersey, daughter of the late John R. and Ruby R. (Conn) Barber, she graduated from Fairhaven High School and was a member of the First Congregational Church. Jean was a strong, determined woman who was devoted to her family and her home. She loved the outdoors and enjoyed caring for her gardens and pets.
Jean’s family would like to thank the Royal staff who lovingly provided care and contributed to her happiness and wellbeing over the past five years.
Survivors include her daughter, Laurie A. Deschamps and her husband Norman of Fairhaven; her son, William E. Condon and his wife Laurie K. of Bullhead City, AZ; her sister, Phyllis Holstius of Fairhaven; her brother, Robert Barber of Maine; grandchildren Mark Deschamps of Fairhaven, Anne Deschamps of Bethesda, MD, W. Patrick Condon and his wife Danielle of Flagstaff, AZ and Amanda Condon of Tucson, AZ; great-grandchildren, Haylee Mae and William Brady Condon; and several nieces and nephews.
Her family will receive guests on Sunday, January 29, 2012 from 1-3pm prior to her memorial service at 3pm in the Waring-Sullivan Home of Memorial Tribute at Fairlawn, 180 Washington St., Fairhaven.
