The Cowboy has gone on to the big ranch in Heaven. Businessman for 35 years and lifelong Horseman & Rancher: Carlos S. Aguirre, Jr. passed away on February 6, 2012 in Odessa, TX.
He was born in Marfa, TX on January 31, 1927 to Pilar and Carlos (Charlie) Aguirre Sr. He served his country proudly in the Army during the Korean War as a sergeant. He then came home and started a family in Marfa, TX as a rancher for Hayes Mitchell. He moved his family to Odessa in 1959 in search of a better life. He was employed by Weskem for many years. He then became part owner of Adair Insulation till 1977. He left then to follow his dream of creating a company with his sons; CS Aguirre & Sons, Inc. He also had a continual dream of ranching and raising cattle. In 1978, he and his sons leased a ranch located west of Van Horn. Then in 1993, they purchased a larger ranch which they named 5/A Ranch located south of Van Horn. He resided at the ranch until 2007; then retiring to Odessa.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Audelia; 4 Sons: Conrad Aguirre (Gloria), Carlos Aguirre III (Mary), Roy Aguirre (Sylvia), Robert Lee (Bobby) Aguirre (Angie); 2 Daughters: Mary Hilda Garrett (Joseph), Rose Mary Santiago (Duane); 3 step sons: Tommy Villanueva (Veronica),Frank Villanueva (Liza), Ernest Villanueva, 6 step daughters; Rosemary Hernandez (Efren), Cynthia Natera (Saturnino), Maribel Desmond (Brian), Diana Rodriguez (Adam), Gracie Quintela (Charlie), Joanna Villanueva; 17 grandchildren; 23 step grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; 8 step great grandchildren;
2 great great grandchildren; 2 sisters: Margie Holguin and Elva Jimenez; 1 brother: Guillermo Aguirre.
He will be reuniting in heaven with his first wife: Susana Aguirre, daughter: Mary Lou Pasillas, parents: Pilar and Carlos (Charlie) Aguirre, brother: Norberto Aguirre, sisters: Leonor Balmos, and Juanita Holguin.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons: Conrad Aguirre Jr., Lucas Aguirre, Robert Lee Aguirre Jr., Eric Randall Aguirre, Alfredo Joseph Marquez and Angelo Jeremy Marquez.
He was a loving husband, great father, beloved grandfather and cowboy to the end who loved his family tremendously; we love him very much and will miss him greatly.
Rosary to be held on Wednesday February 8, 2012 at 7:00 pm and Thursday February 9, 2012 at 7:00 pm at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Home in Odessa, TX. Services are to be held on Friday February 10, 2012 at 2:00 pm at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Ector County Cemetery Rose Hill Section.
