Lamar Betts Pearson (82) passed away Tuesday, February 7, 2012. He was born in Jacksonville, the son of the late Ernest and Julia Pearson. He attended Landon High School (g.1947) and the University of Florida prior to serving in the US Army during the Korean War. A few years after graduating from the University of Tennessee School of Dentistry in Memphis, Tennessee, and practicing in Jacksonville, he completed the Graduate Program of Periodontics at the University of Washington in Seattle, returning to Jacksonville for private practice in Periodontics. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Mildred and Elizabeth. He is survived by Susan, his wife of 45 years; two sons, John (Jackie) of Atlanta, and Stephen (Renee) of Orlando; four grandchildren, Nicholas, Morgan, Emily and Jordan; a sister, Sara Chriss, of Jacksonville; a brother, William (Frances) of Douglasville, Georgia, and many nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, February 11, at 2:00 P.M. in the Sanctuary at Southside United Methodist Church. The family will greet guests following the service.
