William J. Batliner age 85 of Raytown, MO. passed away at his home on February 11, 2012. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday Feb.15, 2012 at 10AM at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with burial to follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call from 6-8 PM on Tuesday Feb. 14th at the McGilley & Sheil Funeral Home. Bill was born to Andrew & Josephine Batliner on June 20, 1926 in San Francisco, CA. He moved to the Kansas City area in 1928. He served in the United States Army during WWII as a Tech. Sgt. receiving 2 Bronze Battle Stars. He retired from KC Power & Light as a Foreman after 42 years. He was a member of I.B.E.W. Local 1464 and a member of the Quarter Century Club. He loved fishing, hunting, and The Ozarks. He was preceded in death by a daughter Carol A. Batliner and a brother Andrew Batliner. He is survived by his wife Margie Batliner of the home and a daughter Deborah J. Pisciotta (Vince) of Raytown, MO as well as several nieces and nephews. The family would like to send special thanks to Vitas Hospice and Home Instead Senior Care.
