Joseph Salzman Boyce, 89, of Trent Woods, died February 14, 2012 at CarolinaEast Medical Center. He was born in Syracuse, New York on July 24, 1922, son of the late Archibold R. Boyce and Ella Salzman Boyce Plummer.
He was a longtime member of The Salvation Army, and he served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps. during World War II.
He is survived by Ruby, his wife of 65 years, his daughter, Linda Boyce Bennett and his son, Joseph Russell Boyce, both of New Bern. He is also survived by his sisters- in-law, Helen Cole Parker and husband Franklin of New Bern; Edna Cole Charpentier and husband George of Abbeville, LA; Alyce Parrish Cole of Wade, NC; his brother- in-law, Robert J. Hussey of Lawrenceville, GA and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, February 18, 2012 at Cotten Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will be held at Greenleaf Memorial Park.
