John David Angus, 60, of Harrisburg, PA, sauntered through the gates of heaven on Monday February 13th 2012. Born in Woolrich, PA on January 16th 1952 he is predeceased by his parents Leslie Jeanne Knuth and Henry W. Angus Junior. He is survived by his daughter Jessica Lee, 27 of Eulas, Texas, along with his brother Robert Winters Angus of Auburndale, FL, his brother Henry (Hank) Winters Angus III and his children Gabriel, Veronica and Sydney, his sister Judith (Julie) Leslie Milletics of Camp Hill, PA and her children Lauren and Stephen and by his sister Jeanne Anne Warren and her children Katie and Robert.
Upon graduation from Lock Haven High School, he was accepted into the United States Naval Academy and then completed his education at the University of Pittsburgh. John worked in the textile industry for over 30 years, starting at the Woolrich Woolen Mills when he was in high school. He met the love of his life, Anne Hoffman in 1980 and he loved nothing more than fishing, metal detecting and collecting coins with her. His daughter Jessica, inherited the family’s artistic talent and John was so proud of her creativity and her costume design work.
John was an employee of UPS Freight where he worked night shift on the docks. He liked the night shift because it meant he was getting off work when the fish were biting. His rod and reel were always in the back of his truck with his fishing vest! His big fish stories will be missed dearly. Uncle John, our hearts are broken into pieces with you gone.
A memorial service to celebrate John’s life will be held on March 3, 2012 at 11:00am at Grace Lutheran Church at 1610 Carlisle Road in Camp Hill, PA.
