NAOMI E. ADKINS, age 87 of Morristown, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 25, 2012 at Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare Systems. She attended Buffalo trail Baptist Church. Mrs. Adkins retired as elementary school teacher after teaching for 34 years. She graduated from Morris Harvey College and West Virginia College of Graduate Studies. Hundreds of children were influenced by her Love of music and general studies. She was born and raised in West Virginia. Naomi and John’s fondness for travel brought them to Morristown in 1976 to live and enjoy their retirement on the lake. Her family and friends will miss her canned foods and unique jelly flavors. She loved driving, painting, her church life, Judge Judy, crossword puzzles, her husband and family, her friends and neighbors. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Wesley Adkins; parents, Joe and Leola Robinson; sisters, Edith Davis and Frances McGraw and brother, Earnest Robinson. She is survived by her sons, Joe (Patti) Adkins of Cincinnati, OH, Robert (Joyce) Adkins of Mt. Gay, WV and Johnny (Susan) Adkins of New Tazewell, TN; grandchildren, Scott, Beth, Christina, Brian, Fallon, Jonna, Chase Adkins and Brittany and Nick Prala; great-grandchildren, Derek Adkins, Clara and Carlee Adkins, Max and Carter Prala; nephews, Steven Robinson and David Davis and a host of friends. Funeral services will be held at 8:00 p.m. on February 28, 2012 in the chapel of Stubblefield Funeral Home with Dr. Keith Mowery officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:45 a.m. on Wednesday, February 29, 2012 in Hamblen Memory Gardens for an 11:00 a.m. entombment service. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
