September 23, 1931 – March 8, 2012
John was born in Inez, Kentucky to Jessie and Rebecca Williamson. Upon graduation from Inez High School, his destiny led him to a 30 year career with the United States Air Force followed by a second career with IRS-Austin. He was very proud of his 53 years of Federal service to his nation. In addition, John was an Endowment Member of the NRA and was a strong advocate of the right to defend one’s self.
John instilled in his children the means to achieve personal satisfaction must come from within. He enjoyed hunting and the outdoors, but his favorite time was that spent nurturing his large vegetable garden and sharing the fruits of it with others.
He was preceded in death by his parents and older brothers Earl, Elmer and Russell. With his passing he can rejoin his life love of 55 years Norma Lee, and eldest son John Jr.
John is survived by his sister, Wanda Lee Chafin of Elizabethtown, Kentucky; son, Dan and wife Barbara of Round Rock; daughter, Melinda; grandchildren, Kellie Littrell and husband Kevin of Atlanta, Georgia, Brandy Ford and husband Thomas of Spokane, Washington, and Dallas Williamson and wife Melissa of Round Rock; and four great-grandchildren, Zoe, Derrick, Kya and Darren.
His family would like to thank his friends and neighbors for their caring and concern. He will be greatly missed.
The family invites guests to visitation from six-thirty until eight o'clock in the evening on Sunday, the 11th of March 2012, at Cook-Walden Capital Parks Funeral Home, 14501 North Interstate 35 Pflugerville, Texas 78660.
