He was a native of Bristol, Tennessee and had been a resident of Sulphur for over 40 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of the V.F.W. Cecil enjoyed gardening and fishing, but he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandkids.
Survivors include two sons, Michael Frye of Baton Rouge, and Scotty Frye and wife, Erica of Sulphur; two daughters, Rebecca Tigert and husband, Bobby of Sulphur and Sandy Lowe and husband, Larry of Waller, Texas; five sisters, Juanita Trivett, Joyce Trivett, JoAnn Osborne, Jane Gros, and Lois Frye, all of Bristol, Tennessee; eight grandchildren, Christina Johnson, Brett Lowe, Sabrina Mitchell, Tana Frye, Brooke Frye, Kendall Frye, Riley Frye, and Peyton Frye; and four great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Wilma Frye.
His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 14, in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. Dr. David Holder will officiate. Burial will be in Prien Memorial Park Cemetery in Lake Charles. Visitation is from 3-9 p.m. Tuesday and 9 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday in the funeral home.
