Russell R. Border, Jr., 64, of Birdsboro, passed away Monday evening, March 12, 2012 at the Reading Hospital and Medical Center with his family by his side. He was the loving husband of Charlotte (Hendricks) Border, whom he married on September 20, 2003.
Russell was born in Reading on November 17, 1947, a son of the late Russell R. Sr. and Eva M. (Vilone) Border. He served in the U.S. Army during Viet Nam.
Russell was employed with the former Compton Knowles as a die press cleaner until he retired in 2002.
In addition to his wife, Charlotte, Russell is survived by two daughters: Stacy Khammany of Ashland and Renee Vongpathoum and her husband, Mut of TX; a stepson: Garrison “Garry” Goodwin of Telford; a stepdaughter: Adeline Corry and her husband, John of MD; four grandsons: Palasa, Navada, Thai and Donovan; two step grandchildren: Shannon and Heather; and a step great grandson, Kelby.
Also surviving is a bother: Raymond Border and his wife, Diane of Reading and two sisters: Linda Jackson and her husband, Elwood of Reading and Linette Kocher and her husband, Thomas of Womelsdorf.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, March 17, 2012 at Auman’s Inc. Funeral Home, 390 W. Neversink Rd., Reading. Family and friends will be received at the funeral home Saturday morning from 10:00am until the time of service. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park where Military Honors will be accorded.
