She has lived and worked at the Transitional Living Center in Valley City since 1984.
Ms. Bowers had graduated from the the Medina Transitional Living Center in Valley City.
A highlight of her life was being able to walk seven years ago. She enjoyed giving hugs, and was a very kind, gentle and loving person, and enjoyed playing pokey with others.
She was born June 17, 1969, in Defiance, Ohio, to Donald E. Bowers and Cheryl Parady.
Surviving are her father and his wife, Donald and Arlinda Bowers of Pleasant Lake, Ind.; her mother and her husband, Cheryl and Keith Parady of Orland, Ind.; a sister and brother-in-law, Michelle and Steve Alexander of Reading, Mich.; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Jason and Onda Bowers of Fort Wayne, Ind., Joshua and Mary Bowers of Fremont, Ind., and Jamin R. Bowers of Kendallville, Ind.; her grandparents, Britt and Wanda Gordon of Bryan; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Virginia and Kenneth VanFossen.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at Beams Funeral Home in Fremont, Ind.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with Pastor Mike Kain officiating.
Burial will be at a later date.
