She was born January 15, 1937 in Danville, VA to the late John H. and Otelia Hawkins, Sr. She was a 1955 graduate of George Washington High School in Danville, VA. While there, she was Honor Queen of Jobs daughter. On March 24, 1956 she married Frank Beasley III at Fort Jackson, SC and together they raised five children. Jackie was a retired bookkeeper with Wade Sheet Metal Corporation.
Jackie was an active member of English Road Baptist Church and the Ready Class. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She truly adored all her family and friends extending back to her childhood classmates and playmates. Jackie never met a stranger and she was very outgoing and a friend to everyone she met. She enjoyed traveling to Danville, VA to have lunch with some of her old classmates called “The Lunch Bunch”. She will be greatly missed by her many friends and numerous relatives.
Jackie was one of eight children; those surviving are John H. Hawkins Jr. and wife Darrell Hawkins of Danville, VA, a sister, Edna Mae Newton of Lakeland FL, and sister, Dorothy Jordan of Virginia Beach, VA.
In addition to her beloved husband Frank, she is survived by a son, Lawrence R. Beasley of Hampton, VA; daughter, Karen S. Dellinger and husband Donald Lee Dellinger, Sr.; son, Frank Leonard Beasley of High Point, NC; daughter, Evelyn Louise Everhart and husband Mark Everhart of Lexington, NC, and daughter, Nancy Leigh James of High Point; 5 grandchildren, Donald Lee Dellinger, Jr. and wife Lisa of Kings Mountain, NC, Alan Richard Dellinger of Austin, TX, Crystal Dawn Beasley of Thomasville, NC, Michael Stephen James of High Point, NC and Melissa Allison James of High Point, NC; 3 great grandchildren, Simon Elliot Dellinger, Ethan Scott Dellinger, and Caleb Andrew Dellinger, all of Kings Mountain, NC.
The family will receive friends Monday, March 26, 2012 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Thomasville Funeral Home, 18 Randolph Street, Thomasville, NC 27360 (336-472-7723). An 11:00 am Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, March 27th at Thomasville Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Jim Summey officiating; interment will follow at Salisbury National Cemetery in Salisbury, NC.
