Born in Fall River, a son of the late Robert and Mary Ann (Sellers) Allcock, he had been a longtime resident of Fall River and lived in Portsmouth for over 30 years.
A Veteran of the United States Navy he served during World War II and worked as a Supervisor at the former Firestone Rubber and Latex Company for 32 years before retiring in 1971. He was a member of the King Philip Lodge in Fall River and enjoyed gardening.
He is survived by two step daughters; Linda Rodrigues and her husband Mark and Susan Cabral both of Fall River, three step-sons; Richard Bumpus of Warwick, Ronald Bumpus and his wife Susan of New Bedford, and Robert Bumpus of Cape Coral, FL, one niece; Maryann Dumont and her husband Ronald of Stuart, FL, one nephew; John M. Doucette and his wife Kathy of Skowhegan, ME, and many step grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was brother of the late Hannah Smith and Doris Ellis.
His Funeral will be held Thursday, April 12, 2012 at 11:00AM in the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME OF MEMORIAL TRIBUTE at CHERRY PLACE 178 Winter St. Fall River. Visiting hours prior to his service from 10:00 to 11:00AM. Contributions in his honor may be made to the Thomas Chew Memorial Boys and Girls Club 803 Bedford St, Fall River, MA 02723. Burial in Oak Grove Cemetery, Fall River.
