A graduate of McKee High School, he served in the U.S. Army just at World War II was ending.
Mr. Arico worked for the city Sanitation Department. After retiring, he became a messenger for J.P. Morgan.
He was a member of the Huttner-Pasqualini Post, American Legion.
Mr. Arico loved to watch television and enjoyed traveling, particularly to Hawaii, said his wife, the former Maureen Barry.
He was a parishioner of St. Ann’s R.C. Church, Dongan Hills, and a member of its Golden Age Club.
Surviving, along with Maureen, his wife of 61 years, are his sons, Paul Jr. and Anthony; his daughter, Nancy Gonzalez, and three grandchildren.
The funeral will be Wednesday from the Virginia Funeral Chapel, Dongan Hills, with a mass at 10 a.m. in St. Ann’s Church. Burial will follow in Moravian Cemetery, New Dorp.
