Mary was a unique, caring and generous person. She was passionate about her cooking, traveling, art projects, photography, and volunteering. She loved the outdoor life with all her heart, but most of all she loved the Lord and her family.
Mary was born in Tucson, AZ on June 21, 1934 and passed away April 22, 2012 with her loving husband and daughters by her side. Mary is now in heaven painting, picking flowers, watching "The View", and singing with the angels. We will miss her dearly, her colorful personality and all.
Mary is survived by her husband, Anthony Amado; daughters, Patricia Amado and Louise (John) Steckler; son, Martin (Johnette) Amado; grandsons, John and Anthony Steckler; brothers, Richard (Susan) Lopez, and Tony (Carmen) Lopez, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Alfredo Lopez; mother, Simona Mejia.
Services will be held at Johnson Mortuary with a visitation from 5:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. and a Rosary at 7:00 P.M. Thursday, April 26, 2012. A Funeral Mass will take place at Immaculate Conception Church Friday, April 27, 2012 at 11:00 A.M., Msgr. O'Keeffe will officiate. Her final resting place will be at Desert Lawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be James Martinez, Anthony Steckler, John Steckler, Isreal Salomon, Ed Martinez, and Krystian Lekan. Honorary pallbearers will be Leo Santa Cruz, Abe Gordoa, Roscoe Ivey, and Joe John Almodova. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to Arizona Historical Society House Museum (240 S. Madison Ave. 85364)
