Barbara JoAnn Turner Pabst, age 74 of Belton passed away Tuesday, April 24, 2012. She was born December 12, 1937, in the Cow Creek area of Burnet County and lived in Bertram and Burnet. She passed away in Belton where she lived for many many years. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles “Buck” Pabst and by her mother Murle Turner Chambers.
Barbara retired from the restaurant business and also worked for the State of Texas. Her happiest times were when she was surrounded by her family and friends. You could always find Barbara in her kitchen cooking and baking for anyone who came through the door.
Barbara is survived by her children Bobby Wayne Nichols and wife Kandy Kay Nichols of Weir, Deborah Kay Nash of New Braunfels and formerly of Belton, and Connie Lynn Nichols Pabst of Belton. Also surviving are brothers Johnny Turner and wife Wanda of Comanche, LaVaughn Chambers and wife Carolyn of Burnet and Jimmy Chambers and wife Betty also of Burnet; grandchildren Dustin Nichols and wife Sarah of Hutto, Tiffany Sauls and husband Jason of Georgetown, Jason Nash and wife Kristin of Rogers, Brandi Nash Green of Belton, Joshua Pabst and wife Nicole of Burnet, Colton Pabst of Belton, Charles Holloway and wife Melanie of Austin and Michelle Daniels of Odessa. Great grandchildren surviving are Lily and Mya Nichols, Riley Nash, Hunter and Skylar Green and Mark Holloway, and Parker Pabst soon to be here. Barbara is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.
Visitation will be held at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home Friday evening April 27th from 6 to 8 pm. Funeral Service will be held Saturday April 28th at 3pm at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home with Rodney McGee officiating. Interment will follow at Smithwick Cemetery. Pallbearers named were Jason Nash, Dustin Nichols, Chuck Holloway, Jason Sauls, Josh Pabst, and Steven Chambers. Those named as honorary pallbearers were Ryan Chambers, Cliff Goonan, Kyle Alderson, Ty Chambers, and Chris Wells. Family and friends will gather at the Oatmeal Community Center after the interment service at Smithwick.
