CLARK, Danny Ray (Dan), passed away peacefully while asleep in his home at the age of 65 on Thursday May 3, 2012 following a long, courageous battle with Diabetes, Kidney Disease, and infection. Wow did he fight! The Son of Ray and Mildred Clark, Dan was born in Perry County KY January 23, 1947. He was preceded in death by his parents Ray and Mildred Clark, and Brother Rick Clark of Somerset KY. He is survived by his loving, devoted wife Pat Clark of Beavercreek, OH, his son and daughter in law Brian (Louella) Clark of Xenia OH, and sister and brother in law Molly and Don Nichols of Somerset KY as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and five very special grandnieces and nephews to whom he was known as “Uncle Bock”. Dan Served in the US Navy 1964-1968 on the USS Cadmus. He married the former Pat Ward of Xenia on August 2, 1969. The couple shared 42 wonderful years of marriage and possessed the love, passion and respect for each other that most people dream about. In the end, as wife Pat cared for him, he described her as his “Guardian Angel”. He earned an Associate’s Degree from Sinclair, March 1978 in Business Administration and continued further education at Wright State University and was licensed as a Barber in the state of OH. After 23 years of employment at Chrysler Corporation in Dayton OH, the business he started late in his tenure at Chrysler encouraged his departure. A successful entrepreneur, Dan owned and operated D.R. Clark and Associates “Concrete Sealing Specialist” for 31 years. A deeply respected, honest business professional, Dan was known for his knowledge and quality workmanship throughout the commercial concrete industry. Described as a tough, old school warrior, Dan was a hard-working, hand-shake man that believed strongly in always doing the right thing. He conducted business with integrity and quality. Far greater than any contract dollar value that he ever attained, Dan took great pride in being recognized for a job well done, and knowing that customers were pleased. As a businessman, nothing made him more proud in the end to know that D.R Clark and Associates and his legacy will continue on operated by his son Brian Clark. Personally, nothing was more important to Dan than family. He was a great son, brother, devoted husband, a wonderful Dad, uncle, friend, and influence on all who knew and loved him. His faith and love for God was carried out each day by the actions he portrayed, the man he was, and the love and impact he had on those around him. As a Dad, Dan took great pride in, and deeply loved his Son Brian and further shared a special love and respect for daughter in Law Louella. Actively involved with love in every detail of his son’s life, Dan was also looked at as a father and mentor to many. He took great pride in impacting young people and lessons learned. Dan had a passion and love for kids and always, no matter what, had time to listen, talk, and play. Known for his one-liners and sense of humor, Dan was a big kid with a huge heart that was always welcoming and giving to others. He had a knack for always making his presence felt, and sharing laughter with those around him. A passionate bass and crappie fisherman, Dan possessed a love for the outdoors, being on the water, and was known by many as a lucky angler. As a Football fan, some of his best years were spent traveling with his wife Pat to his son Brian’s college games at Northern Illinois University. More than anything in the world, Dan loved his family and home. His impact on the world was real and strong and his presence in Heaven will be felt. Dan Clark will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
