James “Jim” C. Adams, a resident of Baton Rouge and a native of West Virginia, passed away on Friday, May 4, 2012 at the age of 83. Jim was a member of the USMC, and he also retired from Allied Chemical and Hallbuck Marine where he gave many years of service. He was an avid sport and LSU fan, and a member of Goodwood Blvd. Church of Christ. Jim was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who will be dearly missed by all that knew him. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Ila M. Adams; his daughter, Elizabeth “Betsy” Reyes and husband Albert; three sons, James David Adams and wife Suzanne “Sue”, Jeffery Adams and wife Gina, and John W. Adams and wife Suzanne “Suzy”; one sister, Margaret Bero; eight grandchildren, James Bradley Adams, Sarah Reyes, Erika Reyes, Leigh Adams, Mark Adams, Travis Adams, Blake Adams, and Cameron Adams; one great grandchild, Molly Powell; one niece, Mary Kay Webb; and one nephew, Eddie Lee Bero. He is preceded in death by his parents, Eddie and Mae Adams. Visitation will be held on Wednesday May 9, 2012 at Greenoaks Funeral Home from 12pm until service at 2pm conducted by Minister Bryan Kirby. Interment will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park.
