The Honorable Richard V. Anastasi, 76, of Hillsdale, NJ, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on May 9, 2012. Born and raised in West New York, NJ, Richard attended Memorial High School then went on to attend Gettysburg College. He received his doctorate degree in law from Seton Hall University and was a Municipal Court Judge for the Town of West New York. He was a past president of the West New York Young Men’s Club as well as the North Hudson Lawyers Club. After retiring from his private practice, Richard continued to work for the North Bergen Housing Authority. He was a devout parishioner of St. John the BaptistR.C. Church, Hillsdale, and a member of theMontammy Country Club. Richard loved spending time with his family, watching his grandson pitch, playing cards with his friends, fishing on his boat, and working in his garden. Predeceased by his parentsGiacchino and Carmella(nee LaTerra)Anastasi and by his two sisters JennieMascioli andOlimpia Mattarazzo. Richard is survived by his loving wife of 51 years Anna Anastasi. Devoted father of Jack Anastasi, Juliann Anastasi, RickyAnastasi and his wife Joanne, and ElenaAligo and her husband Thomas. Cherished grandfather of Richie, Elena, Sierra, Olivia, Victoria, Steven, Julianna, Ricky, Thomas, and Ava.
