WEST COLUMBIA – Cheryl “Cherry” Shuler Blanton died Thursday, May 10, 2012. Ms. Blanton was born April 1, 1947 and was the daughter of Ashton A. Shuler, Sr. and Nezzie Hite Shuler. She was an Airport High School graduate and an accounts payable clerk for CMC Steel, Cayce. She was a volunteer for Harvest Hope Food Bank, Cayce. Her favorite pastime was crocheting caps for premature babies for local hospitals, the homeless, hats for children of Indian Elementary School, AZ, and others. She enjoyed attending gospel singings and was a faithful member of Nazareth PH Church, Lexington.
Survivors include a son, Mark A. (Doreen) Lyle; granddaughter, Brittany Lyle; sisters, Eva S. Williams, Linda S. (Jimmy) Jacobs; brothers, Danny Shuler, Avon Shuler, Beauford Shuler; brother-in-law, Earl (Betty) Outlaw; many nieces, nephews, cousins and aunts. She was predeceased by parents; sisters, Marjorie H. Outlaw, Judy S. Kleckley; brothers, Owen Shuler and Lin Shuler.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Monday, May 14, 2012 at Caughman Harman Funeral Home, West Columbia Chapel with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Southland Memorial Gardens.
