Born in Burrillville, Rhode Island, daughter of the late Antoinette Coderre, she had been a lifelong resident of Swansea.
Mrs. Salvas was a waitress at the China Royal Restaurant for many years and owned and operated the former Terry Joe’s restaurant in Somerset before retiring in 1990. She enjoyed bowling, playing bingo, crocheting, and RVing.
In addition to her husband she is survived by five children Joseph R. Salvas Jr., Michael R. Salvas, David R. Salvas, Dianne Grota and Susan Znoj all of Swansea; two sisters Lucille Ashton of Portland, OR and Mona Danielson of Putnam, CT, ten grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Albert “Babe” Payne and Alfred “Sonny” Payne.
Visiting hours are Sunday, June 3, 2012 from 3-6 PM in the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME OF MEMORIAL TRIBUTE at BIRCHCREST, 189 Gardners Neck Road, Swansea.
