Anna D. Alexander, former resident of Beachwood Drive, died Friday June 15, 2012 at Maysville Nursing & Rehabilitation Facility. She was born in Mason County and was the daughter of the late David and Ethel May Brooks. Mrs. Alexander was a cook at the Union Café, New Central Hotel and cooked for the late Virginia Kress in New York City. Anna Volunteered at Meadowview Regional Medical Center for several years and was a Kentucky Colonel and a member of the Washington Missionary Baptist Church. She is survived by her son George (Patsy) Chambers of Maysville. Among her other survivors is her granddaughter Dorothy (Corky) Gibbs, her great grandson Bryant Gibbs, both of Maysville and grandchildren, Elizabeth Kay Ashley, George Chambers, Jr., Steve (Medra) Chambers, Jeff (Melissa) Chambers, Michael Johnson, Sherry (Steve) Lofton, Gail (Mike) Pennington, Dwayne (Mary) Chambers, several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Preceding her in death was her husband Robert Alexander and her daughter Mary Elizabeth DeJanette. Funeral Services for Anna Alexander will be held at the Washington Missionary Baptist Church, Friday June 22, 2012 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Kevin Gibbs officiating. Burial will follow in the Maysville Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Steve Lofton, Bryant Gibbs, George Chambers, Jeff Chambers, Steve Chambers and D. J. Chambers. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dwayne Chambers and Greg Moore. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday one hour prior to the service.
Memorials may be made to the Washington Missionary Baptist Church, 504 Clark Street, Maysville, KY 41056. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service.
