Born on May 8, 1926, to Clovis and Syble Fugitt, she was a lifelong resident of Prentiss County and a member of East Booneville Baptist Church.
An employee of Blue Bell Manufacturing, Maxola became a fulltime homemaker and caregiver to her daughter Kathy who had cerebral palsy. An avid reader, for over 20 years Mrs. Bonds wrote a column “Booneville Happenings” for the weekly Booneville newspaper, The Banner Independent.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at McMillan Funeral Home with Bro. Chuck Hampton and Bro. Rickey Kelly officiating. Burial will be in the Forest Memorial Park near Corinth.
She is survived by one son, James Bonds (Nancy) of Brentwood, TN; three grandchildren, Valerie Bonds Carlton, and Matthew Bonds (Janie) also of Brentwood and Susanne Bonds of Dallas, TX. She also is survived by one sister, Wynette Kelley and one brother, Boyd Fugitt (Evelyn) both of Booneville, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Billy Bonds; a daughter, Kathy; a brother, Orville; a sister, Mozelle Kitchens; and her parents.
Visitation will be from 5-8 pm on Tuesday, June 19, 2012 and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at McMillan Funeral Home.
