Roy Rister, 71, of Willard, died late Friday night July 20, 2012 at his niece’s residence. He was born April 7, 1941 in Ironton, Ohio the son of Willy and Mae (Sprouse) Rister. He was happily married to Marilyn (Miller) Rister for over 54 years. Roy worked for Ford Motor Co. and retired after 37 years of faithful service. He was a member of the UAW Local 913 and a former member of the Sandusky Eagles. He was an avid woodworker and was a dear friend to all that knew him.
He is survived by his sons, Phillip Rister of Lacarne, OH, Mark (Licia) Rister of San Antonio, TX; step-daughter: Annette (Blake) Canon of North Carolina, five grandchildren; four great grandchildren; brothers, James (Sue) Royster of Oak Harbor, Robert (Jean) Royster of Aberdeen, Maryland; sisters, Elizabeth Butler of Port Clinton, Rosemary Benton of Rogersville, TN, Margaret (Charles) Clouse of Honea Path, SC, Sharon Tokar of Belton, SC. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife; brothers, Harst, Harlan, and Frank; sisters Edith and Ruby; step-son, Mike Baker.
Visitation will be 2-9PM Monday, July 23, 2012 at Lindsey-Foos-Kocher Funeral Service, 1295 West Tiffin St, Attica. Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at 11:00AM at the funeral home.
