Norma Jean (Caton) Black, 75, of Independence, MO went to her heavenly home on August 12, 2012. Visitation will be at the McGilley & Sheil Chapel on Fri., Aug. 17th from 6-8pm. Funeral service 11am Sat. at Pebble Creek Assembly of God Church (13800 E. 51st St. KCMO) with graveside service following at 2pm at Robinson Cemetery in Rich Hill, MO. Norma was born on Feb. 12, 1937 to Glenn Christine & Orville Edmond Caton in Sheldon, MO & graduated from Nevada High School in 1954. She was united in marriage to Rea Black of Rich Hill, MO on Aug. 18, 1954 & they moved to the KC area in 1956. Norma was a Charter Member of Pebble Creek Assembly of God in KCMO. Affectionately known as ‘Mimi’ to her loved ones; she constantly gave of herself as a wonderful mother, grandmother & great-grandmother. They were the glory of her life. Norma was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Rea; her parents; a sister, Alberta Caton and a brother, Orville ‘Sonny’ Caton. She is survived by her daughters, Jean Lilly (George) of Independence, MO & Joni Clouse (Greg) of KCMO, a sister, Juanita Lyon of Lee’s Summit, MO; 5 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews & many friends.
