Alfonso Arroyo, Sr. entered life on March 22, 1932 in Penuelas, Puerto Rico to the late Mr. Placido Arroyo and the late Mrs. Eulalaria Matos. Alfonso left his hometown to move to the United States of America in 1950, where he settled in the "Big Apple", New York City, New York to begin his new life with his family. Alfonso soon found work with the Uniroyal Corporation where he worked hard for over 25 years. In 1955 he moved his family to the Connecticut area to a new home and worked in the Upholstery Business putting his acquired skills to work creating beautiful pieces. Finally in 1994 Alfonso moved his family for a final time to retire in Florida at his new home in Wellington. Alfonso never being a home body found work as a maintenance worker for a condominium building in Lake Worth, Florida, where he worked until he became ill most recently. Alfonso loved his "Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ" and worshipped at Christ Fellowship with his family and church family. He was a kind, gentle, giving man with a big smile; quiet manner and patient spirit. He never let anyone do without if he could deliver his time, talent or assistance to aid someone in distress. He will be remembered for his love of playing Dominos; watching Boxing and WWE Wrestling on the TV set; cheering his teams on to victory in Baseball (The Mets and The Yankees) and when they did not win, he would say "maybe next year". Alfonso also loved to plant and garden growing astonishing plants, nursing plants back to health with his "green thumb", cultivating a victory garden of succulent culinary delights, growing beautiful flowers of every variety and planting trees to restore a natural balance to his yard and nature. God called; Alfonso to his Heavenly Home on August 15, 2012, because he needed another Angel in Heaven to watch over all of his beautiful flowers in Heaven and on Earth! Alfonso will live on in the memories of those he leaves behind to forever cherish him; including a loving and devoted wife, Ana R. Arroyo; his two loved children, Elizabeth Arroyo of Wellington, FL and Alfonso Arroyo, Jr. of Florida; three cherished grandchildren, Victoria Arroyo and Antonio Arroyo both of Waterbury, Connecticut and Alfonso Arroyo, III of Orlando, Florida. Several nieces and nephews also survive him.
