He was born December 25, 1934, in Lima to Daniel and Erma Mauk Bolender, who preceded him in death. His wife, Wilma J Stone Bolender, survives in Dunnellon, Florida.
Mr. Bolender was a 1952 graduate of Lima South High School, retired from Ford Motor Company in 1987 and enjoyed his retirement years in many ways. He loved travelling, fishing, woodworking, old cars and motorcycles. Hosting and visiting family and friends was dear to him. Russell will be deeply missed.
Survivors also include his former wife of 30 years Barbara Pat (Tracy) Bolender of St. Petersburg, FL; three daughters, Riki (Michael) Harpest, of Lima, Marcia (Gary) Flemke, of Hemlock, NY, and Carla Bolender of St. Petersburg, FL; two sons, Russell T Bolender of Clearwater, FL, and Stuart Bolender of Lima, OH; a stepdaughter, Rhonda (Fred) Roman of Nashville, TN; five grandchildren, Jason Smith, Angela Norbeck, Jeffrey Harpest, Justin Smith and Charles Bolender; two stepgrandchildren, Riki & Ryan Roman; four great-grandchildren, Krista and Jessica Norbeck, Leah Grace and Ariana Smith; two sisters, Rebecca (Glenn) Kiefer of Troy and Karen (Edward) Kelly; two brothers, Herb (Carrie) Bolender and Richard (Rose) Bolender, all of Lima, OH; a sister-in-law, Judy Bolender of Dewitt, MI; several nieces and nephews and numerous cousins.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Wayne Bolender.
Memorial services will begin at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, 2012, at Siferd-Orians Funeral Home, with Rev. Charlotte Hefner officiating.
Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until the time of services Saturday.
