Tahlequah, OK- Gloria Valiente Bass was born on April 9th, 1951 in Manila, Philippines. She attended and obtained her high school certificate in the Philippines. She married a US Serviceman and relocated with him to the USA. She was the proud mother of a daughter, Crystal. A homemaker by profession, Gloria found time to work on her favorite arts and craft, and loved to socialize with her friends. There was nothing better than an afternoon spent at the flea markets looking for that special little knick-knack. Gloria loved to go fishing and loved cooking fish even more. Her specialty for her family was her homemade Filipino egg rolls. She was small in stature but big in heart. She could shoot pool and bowl in leagues with the best of them, and had a room full of trophies to prove it. She loved any time spent with her favorite grandchildren, Elijah and Lynden. She was so proud of anything they accomplished. A devout Catholic by faith, she walked every chance she got to St. Brigid’s to attend Mass. Gloria knew her mind, and would freely offer her opinion if you asked for it. She had a quick smile and a great sense of humor. Gloria went to her Eternal home on Monday, September 17th, 2012 in Tahlequah, OK at the age of 61 years. She will be greatly missed for all the love she gave to those who knew her.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Crystal Steed and husband Allen of Tahlequah, OK. Her legacy for life continues on in her two loving grandchildren, Elijah Steed, and Lynden Steed, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends and loved ones.
