Jean was a member of First Christian Church and the Cornerstone Christian Church. She worked at Travelers Insurance for 36 years as a bookkeeper. Jean was the youngest and feistiest of 7 children who delighted in tormenting her brothers, and on occasion her sisters. Most importantly, she was a loving caregiver to her mother and both sisters.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Valentine and Alta, nee Bruce, Schnipper; a sister, Marguerite Hayes; 2 brothers, Carlos and Warren Schnipper; an infant sister and brother; 2 sisters-in-law, Ruth and Marjorie Schnipper; and 2 brothers-in-law, Harold Hayes and Ivan Homan.
Surviving Jean is a sister, Eloise Homan; nephews and nieces, Jim & (Nickie) Schnipper, Robert and (Marsha) Schnipper, Don and (Jan) Schnipper, Pennee and (Roy) Merrill, and Gail (John) Long; as well as great nieces and great-nephews.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 21, 2012 from 4 till 8 p.m. at the Valhalla Gaerdner Holten Funeral Home, 3412 Frank Scott Parkway, Belleville.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 22, 2012 at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Scott Adkins officiating. Interment will be in the Valhalla Gardens of Memory, Belleville.
