Lynn Daugherty, 89, of Midland, passed away Tuesday, October 2, 2012 in Uvalde, Texas. She was born in Erath County, Texas on July 30, 1923 to Henry and Betty King. In 1942 in San Angelo, Texas she married Harlan Thomas Maxwell. They moved to Midland in June of 1947 and remained married until his death in 1975. During this time Lynn worked at “The Spot” restaurant in Midland Tower Bldg and purchased it in 1972. She owned and operated “The Spot” until 1994. In May of 1979 she married E.M. (Red) Daugherty after the death of Harlan.
Lynn was preceded in death by her parents, Henry A. and Betty King; her first husband Harlan Maxwell and second husband E.M. “Red” Daugherty as well as several brothers and sisters.
Those left to cherish her memory is her son Melvin G. Maxwell and wife Janice of Camp Wood, TX; her stepchildren, Dalton M. Daugherty of Lompoc, CA; Carolyn Phillips of Cache, OK and their spouses, children and grandchildren and their families; her grandchildren, Shannon D. Williams and husband Scott of Buda,TX ; Clinton T. Maxwell and wife Yadi of Harlingen, TX and six great grandchildren. Also, two sisters Della Stump of Woodward, OK and Sue Spencer and husband Bill of Artesia, N.M.
