Ronald Lee McNeal, 70, died on October 4, 2012, with his family by his side in Tallahassee.
Ron was brought in to this world on June 4, 1943, in Three Rivers, Michigan, the son of Maxine Hughes McNeal and Olen Robert McNeal, both having predeceased their son.
Ron is survived by his best friend and wife of 35 years, Becky McNeal. Ron leaves behind three daughters; Veronica McNeal of Columbia, South Carolina, Theresa Clements and Lisa Tulla, both of Three Rivers, Michigan; two sons, Steven Fisher (USAF) of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Todd McNeal of Kalamazoo, Michigan. Ron has five beautiful granddaughters and three grandsons; his brother, Richard McNeal of Inverness, Florida and his mother-in-law, Betty Augustin of Monticello, Florida. Ron also leaves behind his two most faithful companion pets, Manny and Marlee, who were never far from his side.
After 23 years of service to the Tallahassee Police Department as a Crime Scene Investigator, Ron retired in 2010 due to illness. Prior to joining the Tallahassee Police Department, Ron served with the City of Port Richey Police Department, the Quincy Police Department and as a reserve officer with the Leon County Sheriff’s Department. Ron loved law enforcement and was proud to have been of service to his community and his fellow officers. Ron served his country in the U.S. Army, was an avid woodworker and enjoyed many hobbies, especially travelling in his motorhome with his wife and pets, especially trips to the North Carolina mountains where he always felt great peace and contentment.
The family requests donations to Big Bend Hospice in lieu of flowers.
Services will be held at Culleys Funeral Home on Timberlane Road on Saturday, October 6th at 4:00 p.m.
Arrangements are under the direction of Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home in Tallahasee, Florida.
