After a long and fulfilling life, it is with great sadness that our beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Terri, (Agnes Beatrix) Anderson passed away peacefully, in her sleep, on October 4, 2012 at the Pinecrest Home of the Aged in Kenora, at the age 85.
She is survived by her children, David, Wayne and Donna Anderson and Laura Horton (Delbert), and Mookigawbowik Morrison; grandchildren Grant, Wendy, Mike, Eric (Lydnsey), Dene, Krystal, Ruth, Steven Anderson, Jeremy Johnston, Tracy and Lionel Horton (Rachel), and Brian Ostaff; great grandchildren, Sabastian, Sydney, Erica Anderson, Kirsten, Payton, Lauryn Horton, Taven and William Ostaff and siblings Stella, Gilbert, Joan, Peggy. She is predeaced by her parents, Georgina and William Boland, siblings Rose, Frances, Mary, John, Wilfred and Archie; and sons, Myles and Thomas Anderson.
Terri is a member of the Tulita Dene Band, where Mom was born on the Great Slave Lake in Northwest Territories in 1927. She met the love of her life, Grand Anderson in Atikokan where she raised her family before moving to Toronto. After the passing of her husband, Terri found her way back to Northern Ontario where she always said, “this is where my heart belongs.”
Terri had touched the lives of many people throughout her life through her work, her commitment to AA and volunteerism. She loved time spent with her grandchildren blueberry picking, swimming, hiking, baking and seven minute icing chocolate cakes and always whistling while she worked.
A celebration of her life was held October 7, 2012 at the Brown Funeral Home in Kenora, surrounded by loved ones and family. Pastor Henry presided over the services.
Any donations could be directed to the Kenora Fellowship Center.
See you later alligator, not for a while crocodile.
We love you forever, miigwetch for all that you taught us and the joy that you gave and shared. “Mom now we’ll let you fly, where the wild Geese fly”
