Macon, GA- - Tom Hill, Jr., 88, passed away on Saturday, October 6, 2012 in a local hospital. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at 11:00 AM in Riverside Cemetery entering thru the North Gate. The Family will greet friends from 10:30 to 11:00 and following the service at the cemetery. Dr. Tripp Martin will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be to the charity of the donor's choice.
Mr. Hill was born on February 26, 1924 in Macon, Georgia to the late Lois Tharpe Hill and Tom Hill, Sr. He was a veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy during World War II. After completing his tour, he and his father started a family construction business. He was an avid sportsman, enjoying hunting, fishing, and shooting skeet. He was a member of the Methodist faith. He was preceded in death by his sister: Julia H. Underwood Tuccinardi.
Mr. Hill is survived by his wife of 62 years: Amy Adams Hill of Macon; son: Tom Hill, III and daughter: Amy Hill Hartness; grandsons: Trevor Hill, Charlie Hartness and Sam Hartness all of Macon; sister: Louise H. Burkhalter and brother: Monroe (Marie) Hill; nieces: Holly Reeves, Judith Anne Underwood, Lou Warren, Sissie Maffeo, and nephews: Monty Hill and William Underwood.
