Florence "Bunny" Rivara of Palm Bay passed away on Friday, October 5, 2012 after a long illness. She was born June 2, 1937, in Brooklyn, and lived in Jamaica, Hewlett, Rockaway Beach and Oceanside, New York, prior to moving to Palm Bay, Florida in November 1989.
Florence was head waitress at a popular New York Diner for over (20) years and after the move to Palm Bay was employed by Honey Baked Ham in Melbourne, Florida for several years until she was diagnosed with cancer, which she eventually defeated in 1999. She is a current member of the Women of the Moose, Melbourne FL Chapter 1046. She enjoyed bowling, bingo, movies, casino gambling, playing cards, games and travel with friends and family.
Survivors include her husband of 53 years, John P. Rivara, daughter, Debra Krueger and her husband Ronald, son, John T. Rivara and his wife Linda, brother, Donald Rowe and his wife Olivia, nieces, Donna Bailey, Leslie Novak and several great nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 9, 2012 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm. Funeral services and burial will be held 1:00 pm on Wednesday October 10, 2012 at the funeral home.
