Age 86, passed away on Oct. 25, 2012 in Lewisville, TX. Born Nov. 6, 1925 in Sayre, OK to George and Annie (Hawkins) Acree. James is survived by his daughters, Melissa Solomon and Robin Neeper; sisters, Sybl Acree and Betty Hawkins; brother, Vern Acree and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Acree served in the U.S. Army during WWII in both France and Germany and served under General Patton at the Battle of the Bulge. James also served as a M.P. during the Korean War. After retiring from the military as a SGT, he worked for Stanley Home Products for many years and then with Morton Foods as a mechanic. James was also a proud member of the Masons. A graveside service will take place at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery on Friday, November 9, 2012 at 2:15 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
