A funeral mass will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church on Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at 1:00 PM with Father Frank Patterson officiating. Burial will follow in Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery.
Bob was born on December 1, 1950 to Robert Frank and Rose Marie Herbeck in Belleville, IL. He served in the U.S. Army for 21 years. Bob was in the Vietnam Conflict with the 101st Airborne Unit. He was a highly decorated soldier, having earned the Soldier’s Medal, a Bronze Star, Purple Heart and several other merit awards.
Bob was a loving and caring husband. He was a wonderful father to his children and grandchildren. He loved barbequing every weekend for his loving family. Bob also enjoyed building and creating things with his hands. He was an outstanding soldier and patriot. Bob was adored and loved by everyone who knew him and will be missed dearly.
Survivors include his loving wife of 42 years, JoAnn Herbeck of Columbus; two children, Misty Rogers and Robby Herbeck, both of Columbus; two grandchildren, Kyle and Kayla Rogers of Columbus; his mother, Rose Herbeck of Columbia, IL; four siblings, Kathy (Dean) Whitcomb of Rockford, IL, Terry (Mary) Herbeck of Columbia, IL, Larry (Melissa) Herbeck of Columbia, IL and Bonnie (Rick) Shackelford of Spring, TX; and several nieces and nephews.
