Judge Armand Pomante
Judge Armand Pomante age 89, on November 1, 2012. He resided in Devon and Wayne, PA. Mr. Pomante was born March 11, 1923 in Camden NJ. He went to Radnor Elementary and was a Radnor High School Graduate in 1941. He attended Villanova University College of Engineering, University of Philippines, Law courses at Penn State University, Wilson College and Shippensburg College. He was the son of the late Michael and Angelina (Matteo) Pomante. He was a Design Draftsman for Westinghouse Electric for 28 ½ years. He worked on design of power plant of Nautilus Atomic Submarine. He went to war February 5, 1943 to January 6, 1946 as Sergeant in the US Army Amphibious Special Brigade in the Pacific Theater and was wounded in the invasion of Lingayen Gulf Philippines. He later served his apprenticeship as a carpenter, Notary Public and Justice of the Peace for 7 years and 9 months. He was elected District Justice for 16 years. He is predeceased by his wife Ida M. (Nee Pilotti). He is survived by his children, Dr. Ronald G. (Maureen Kavanaugh) Pomante and Kathryn Pomante (Robert Harclerode), and His grandchildren; Kristin D’Uva, Gina Genesio, Angela Sipe, Meredith Harclerode, Katie Harclerode, and Rob Harclerode. Surviving also are his five great grandchildren; Salvatore D’Uva, Guilia D’Uva, Dominic D’Uva, Mason Genesio and William Sipe. Brother of Dolores Pomante & Anne Paparo. He was a member of Wayne IAC, Life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, Disabled American Veterans, and a member of Our Lady of the Assumption Church.
Relatives and Friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass on Monday November 5, 2012 @ 10:30 AM from Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Strafford. Interment at St. Monica Cemetery in Berwyn. Viewing Monday Morning 9-10:30AM in the Sacred Heart Chapel of Our lady of the Assumption Church. In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion Post of Wayne or Devon.
