William C. Thomas, Jr., 81, Cornwall, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday November 4, 2012 in the Lebanon VA Medical Center. He was the husband of Sally A. Reilly Thomas with whom he would have celebrated a 60th wedding anniversary on December 22nd. He was born in Atkins, VA on June 6, 1931 a son of the late William C. and Ruby L. Anderson Thomas. He had been a Road Master for the highway department for many years. He was a U. S. Army veteran having served in the Korean Conflict with the 8th Army, 27th Wolf Hounds, where he received 2 Purple Hearts and 3 Bronze Stars. He loved the Lord and was a member of the Open Door Baptist Church. Bill was an avid organic gardener and loved woodworking. He was a life member of the NRA and a voracious reader. He was a Dallas Cowboys fan due to his respect and admiration of head coach Tom Landry. In addition to his wife he is survived by children: Audrey A. wife of Mervin Kissinger, Lebanon; Alan K. Thomas, Lebanon; Marcia E. wife of Russell H. Krause, Lebanon; Melinda R. Centini, Lebanon; Michael A. Thomas and wife Rachael, Cornwall; Mark J. Thomas and wife Christine, Cornwall; daughter-in-law: Wendy Thomas, Lebanon; 12 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; 1 Great Great granddaughter; brothers: Sammy, Dale and Lonnie Thomas; sister: Wanda Thomas; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by son: William C. Thomas III and sister: Joyce Haga. Funeral services will be Friday at 10:30 A.M. in the Open Door Baptist Church, 875 Academy Dr., Lebanon, PA 17046 where a viewing will begin at 9:30 A.M. Interment will be made in the National Cemetery at Ft. Indiantown Gap with full military honors. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to his church or to the Lebanon Christian Academy, same address. The Rohland Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
