Maxine was raised and educated in Las Animas, where she graduated from high school. She received her Master’s Degree from Colorado State University and was just shy of her Doctorate.
Maxine was a very strong dynamic woman, raising two boys on her own, along with attending university and working as a professor at Aims Community College. She was a world traveler and enjoyed scrapbooking, accounting for her properties and financial endeavors. Her sons were above all and of paramount importance.
Maxine is survived by her two sons, Gabriel Marquez of New York City, New York and Marc Marquez of Greeley; her father, Max Ronquillo of Las Animas and her sister, Margaret Arnold of Poinciana, Florida.
She was preceded in death by her mother.
The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at Stoddard Funeral Home.
