8/22/1927 - 11/5/2012
Dottie passed away peacefully on November 5, 2012. She grew up in Auburn, graduating from Placer High School in 1945. Dottie and her family moved to Hawaii in 1961. She loved living near the beach, participated in local Hawaii plays and worked in the Legislature, but eventually moved back to Auburn. Dottie was a gentle, loving woman, who also loved cooking, golfing, painting, sculpting, and designing homes … but more than anything else, she loved to dance. We all have a smile on our face picturing Dottie dancing to her heart's content in Heaven.
Dottie is preceded in death by her father, Earl DeVore; mother, Doris DeVore Pritchard; brother, Spike DeVore and grandson, Jason Bogle. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Rudy Wagner; her children: Paul Jacobs (Ila), Joanna Guard (Paul) and Jay Jacobs (Becki); and her step-children: Ken Wagner (Dyan) and Richard Wagner (Sue). Dottie is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
A private Celebration of Life will be held in Hawaii, where Dottie wished her ashes to be laid with her father’s ashes.
The family would like to thank Sutter Auburn Faith's 2nd floor staff and Sutter Faith Hospice for their compassionate and kind endcare, as well as everyone at Oakwood Village (assisted living) for providing her with loving care during the past year.
