Leonard Frank Hebert, 88, a native of Thibodaux , Louisiana and a resident of San Antonio , Texas passed away on Wednesday, November 14, 2012. He is lovingly remembered and survived by his wife of sixty-five years, Grace Rita Hebert; three children: Charlene O’Connell and her husband, John; Leonard F. Hebert, Jr, and his wife Vicki; and Terry Hebert. He is also survived by four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren: Christopher Neumann and his wife, Maria; Kevin Neumann and his wife, Rachel; Kathryn E. Hebert; and Nathaniel J. Hebert; great-grandchildren: Abigail E. Neumann and Connor J. R. Neumann. Leonard was preceded in death by his five sisters: Anna Mae Bergeron, Francis Badeaux, Bernice Guion, Vernon Linder, and Cleon Maronge. He is also preceded in death by his parents Frank Hebert and Mae Leonard Hebert. Leonard Hebert was a World War II Veteran earning two Bronze Stars and a Good Conduct Medal. He worked for thirty-six years with the Defense Mapping Agency at Ft. Sam Houston in San Antonio , receiving numerous performance awards. He was an active member of St. Luke’s Catholic Church serving as an usher, an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion, money counter, and honored member of the Men’s Club renowned for his cooking. So many family and friends will miss him but we are comforted to know he is with God in heaven and probably showing St. Peter how to make meatloaf. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the St. Luke’s Bereavement Ministries. The visitation will be held on Monday, November 19, 2012 from 6:00 – 9:00 P.M. with a Rosary service to be held at 7:00 P.M. that evening at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home, 6321 Bandera Rd. The Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Luke’s Catholic Church, 4603 Manitou Dr. at Callaghan Rd. The graveside service and interment will be private.
