James G. Burrows, 82, of Peoria, passed away at 4:25 a.m., Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at Rosewood Care Center in Peoria. He was born September 12, 1930 in Brooklyn, NY to Charles G. and Catharine (McPeek) Burrows. He married Kathleen Fields on September 5, 1954. She survives. Also surviving are two sons, David C. (Gail) Burrows and James M. Burrows; one brother, Carl G. Burrows of Santa Fe, NM; six grandchildren, Kelly (Michael) Hoehne, Kori (Corey) Dorsey, Eric and Jesse Burrows, Karen (Scott) Miller, Stephanie (James) Cort and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Lois. James graduated from Peoria High School in 1947 and Bradley University in 1954 with an engineering degree. He was a Korean War Army veteran. James worked as an engineer for Goodyear, Caterpillar, State of Illinois, and Beling Consultants from which he retired. He enjoyed many hobbies including bowling. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, November 24, 2012 at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the chapel.
