TOFT, Reba Hayden Vantrease was a lifelong resident of Nashville until her last few years. She was born on November 30, 1921 in Nashville, TN and she passed on to heaven peacefully on November 20, 2012, after a long battle with cancer, at her daughter’s home in Clarksville, TN. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald Eugene Toft; son Eugene Hayden Toft and her parents Robert Hayden and Manda Leona Vantrease. Mrs. Toft was a graduate of Peabody College at Vanderbilt University and she retired from Vanderbilt University Child Psychiatry Department. Reba was passionate about loving her family and the arts. She was an accomplished artist and left many of her beautiful paintings to her family and friends. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi, a professional women’s organization for many years and made lifelong wonderful friends. Reba also was a lifelong faithful member of Belmont United Methodist Church. She is survived by her beloved daughter, Pamela Leona Toft Pardue (Jerry William Pardue, Sr.) of Clarksville, TN; grandchildren, Jeremy Hayden Toft of Seattle, WA, Jennifer Noelle Toft of Seattle, WA, Kimberly Pardue-Greene (Donald) of Palmyra, TN, Jerry W. Pardue, Jr. of Eureka, CA, and Christopher Eric Pardue of Nashville, TN.; three great grandchildren, Hunter Hayden Toft, Connor Robert Toft and Lucian Wade Toft. Reba is also survived by her beloved Animal Angels Sassy, Sydney, Sierra and Miss Tennie Mae. A memorial service will be held at two o’clock in the afternoon on Saturday, the 15th of December, 2012 in the Ferguson Chapel at Belmont United Methodist Church with Pastor Ken Edwards officiating. A visitation with family and friends will be held one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be sent to Susan G. Komen Foundation for Breast Cancer Research or to Belmont United Methodist Church.
