Audrey Meeks Alley, 93 passed away peacefully at the Trinity Baptist Hospice House in Collierville, TN on November 28, 2012. She was born on November 27, 1919 and raised in Pickens, MS. She was a devoted member of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church. These are her farewell thoughts she wrote, “Please don’t grieve for me. I lived a good life and the last years would not have been possible without the medical knowledge of replacing some bad parts. They worked well and it gave me many extra years. I want my children and grandchildren to live life to the fullest. Love each other and those around you. Always be a good friend, you can’t live without them. It has been my good fortune to have many and they all made my life fuller and happier. I’m looking forward to joining family and friends that have gone on before me.” She was preceded in death by her husband, George L. Alley, Jr.; her parents, Curtis and Anita Meeks; and her 2 sisters, Doris Humphrey and Anita Rainer. She is survived by 4 children, George L. Alley, III (Judy) of Vaiden, MS; Ronald Alley (Sue) of Centerville, GA; Patty Rogers (David) of Wiggins, MS; and Janet Dempsey (Don) of Germantown, TN. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren Mark Alley (Audra), Robert Alley (Tiffany), Ken Alley, Daniel Rogers (Jenna), Beth Rogers, Derek Dempsey, and Kyle Dempsey; and by 4 great-grandchildren, Reid, Taylor, Kylie, and Abigail.
