Age 88, of Burdett, passed away on November 29th at his home surrounded by family. Bud was born in Rochester, NY on May 18th 1924, son of the late H. Harold and Helen Geimer. Bud graduated from St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Rochester and the University of Michigan. He married Joan Greenwood on May 28th in 1948, a marriage that lasted for 58 years until he lost her on June 24th, 2006. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Stephanie and Dean Meister of Somerset, NJ, his son and daughter-in-law Hugh and Barbara Geimer of Austin, TX, and his grandson Luke Meister, currently serving in the military. Bud was proud of his military service, where he served in the Navy between 1943 and 1946 in the Pacific theater. Bud was a gregarious and outgoing man who loved to entertain friends at his home, even as recently as his 88th birthday in May. He was an avid hobbyist photographer who enjoyed good food, the theater, camping, singing in the church choir and travel to historic destinations. Friends and family are invited to call at the Haughey-Wood Funeral Home 119 5th St., Watkins Glen, NY on Sunday December 2nd between 2:00pm and 4:00pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary’s of the Lake Church, Watkins Glen on Monday, Dec 3rd at 10:30 am. Bud will be laid to rest in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Rochester at 2:30pm on Monday. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Burdett Fire Company, PO Box 238, Burdett, NY 14818 in Bud’s name. Arrangements are entrusted to the Haughey-Wood funeral home.
