Born March 17, 1918 in Ouachita County, Arkansas, he was the son of David Arthur and Margaret Lucretia Posey Bussell. Mr. Bussell was manager and operations vice president for Dialog for many years. He was a member of the Columbia #82 Free and Accepted Masons of Magnolia and a member of Three Creeks Baptist Church.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army. During his service he participated in the campaigns of Normandy, North France, Rhineland, Ardennes and Central Europe receiving five Bronze Stars and the Good Conduct Medal.
Preceding him in death along with his parents were his wife, Audrey Wood Bussell, one brother, David Bussell, Jr. and one sister, Blanche Tousey.
Survivors include a daughter, LaJuan Walters of Junction City and a son, James Arthur Bussell (Wendie) of Missouri City, TX and four grandchildren, Kevin Walters (Vicki) of San Antonio, TX, Kristin Mercado (Ed), Bryce Bussell (Stephanie Polar) all of Katy, TX and Brett Bussell (Angel) of Phenix City, AL. Also surviving are seven great-grandchildren, Erika Mercado, Anthony Mercado, MacKenzie Walters, Eliot Mercado, Nicholas Mercado, Jaxon Mercado and Ryder Bussell.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, December 15, 2012 at Three Creeks Cemetery with Rev. Tommy Kimball officiating with interment to follow under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.
The family will receive friends in the Fellowship Hall of Three Creeks Baptist Church Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M.
