James Bennett Marshall, Jr., 96, of Royal, Arkansas, died at his home, Saturday, December 8, 2012. He was born June 19, 1916, in Columbus, Texas, to the late Rev. James Bennett and Eunice (Stover) Marshall. He was an accountant for Sun Oil Company and a member of First Baptist Church in Hot Springs, Arkansas.
James is preceded in death by his parents; first wife Edna Taweel Marshall; sons James Bennett Marshall, III and John Conyers; brother Eugene Stover Marshall; sisters Pauline Johnson, Narcille Butts, Dorothy Mason, and Mary Louise Marshall. He is survived by his wife, Grace Kinkead Marshall of Royal, Arkansas, daughters Arleen Kee and husband William T. of Royal, Arkansas, Amanda Marshall of Hot Springs, Arkansas, Rhonda Patterson and husband Mark of Lexington, Kentucky, Candy McClard and husband Jody of Hot Springs, Arkansas, and Kathie Lucas and husband Rob of Hot Springs, Arkansas; son Bill Conyers and wife Betsy of Bryant, Arkansas; brother Earnest Marshall of Marshall, Texas; grandchildren Lori Kee Harrellson and husband Robert Lee, William Thomas Kee, Jr. and wife Lorraine Kathleen; great-grandchildren Ryan, Zachary and Ethan Harrellson, Elizabeth and Jacob Kee, Britney Mullins and husband Johnny, Tiffany Clausel and husband Joshua; seven great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Honorary pallbearers are Senior Adult III Sunday School Class at First Baptist Church.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Dr. John Bond, Sellie Williams, Joan Jones, Kaesha Willis, Linda Jones, Margaret Perkins and Margo Diaz.
A visitation will be from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church of Hot Springs, Arkansas with service immediately following at 2:00 p.m. with Brother John McCallum officiating. Graveside Service will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 16, 2012 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Beaumont, Texas with Rev. James
