He was born September 24, 1917 in Wyoming, IL to Merwin and Beulah Babcock. He first married Jean Vollmer. He later married Edith Babcock June of 1975 in Peoria. She died in Havana in 2011.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers Russell and Murray and one sister Martha Marvel and one grandson Richard.
Surviving are four sons, David Babcock of Peoria, James Babcock of East Peoria, Ronald (Eve) Babcock of Lakeside, CA, Steven (Mary) Babcock of Washburn, IL; one daughter, Sandra Scoby of Peoria; 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Milton was a WWII Navy veteran. He was a life member of Havana VFW Post# and a former member of Limestone American Legion Post #979.
All his life he worked as a truck driver. He was a member of Local #627 in Peoria. He worked for George Hoffman & Sons, Peoria Blacktop and Cullinans.
Milton enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, December 17, 2012 at Swan Lake Memory Gardens. Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
