Louis C. Alarie, 92, a lifelong resident of Johnston, passed away peacefully December 16, 2012. He was the husband of the late Sarah E. (Inman) Alarie and son of the late Henri and Alphonsine Marie (Richards) Alarie.
Louis graduated from LaSalle Academy in 1938 and later went on to work as a Project Engineer for Imperial Knife for 27 years. A WW II Army veteran, he served as a Staff Sergeant during the Pacific Theater, where he received four Battle Stars. Louis was an avid golfer who loved sports and coached Little League baseball and hockey and was the first Cub Scout Master for St. Thomas Church, where he also taught CCD.
He was the father of Louis Alarie and his wife Marianne, Richard Alarie, Helen Gemma, Diane Lambert and her husband Ronald and the late Steven Alarie; grandfather of 12 and great grandfather of 15 and brother of Robert and George Alarie and the late Henry Alarie, Irene Beaulieu, Joan Inman and Theresa Contillo.
His funeral and visitation will be held Friday at 8:30 am in the ROMANO FUNERAL HOME, 627 Union Avenue, Providence followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Thomas Church, Fruit Hill Avenue, Providence.
